Jupiter in Cancer.....YASSSS!!! Finally! Thank God.
Oh, and Venus in Taurus ain't bad either, am I right?!
It’s here! The time of the year that all of the astrologers have been so excited about all year—Jupiter in Cancer!
If you read my first post of the year, it was an overview of the insanely life-changing astrology occurring this year. We just don’t get years like this in every lifetime. And it is all very transformational. Much of it has really rough edges and depth. Some of it is downright exhausting. But, the biggest bright spot in our year is now, and this is the energy we can work with.
The first few months of the year there was a lot of “stuck” energy. Being unable to move forward. Running up against really tough themes. Mars, the planet of battle, passion, courage, war, etc was retrograding (causing friction/pulling focus.). So we had a very battle-like, stuck energy. Mars only wants to move forward constantly—impatiently and temperamentally. When it can’t it is pissed. So we were dealing with that during the beginning of the year. (It was also doing it in a sign it isn’t happy in—Cancer.)
Also for the first few months of the year—Venus, the planet of love, was in retrograde (causing friction/pulling focus), in Aries (temperamental). And it wasn’t happy there. Venus moved out of retrograde a handful of weeks ago, but it was still in Aries. However, it just recently moved into Taurus. It is only there for a month, but it is so happy here.
Venus in Taurus - June 6 through July 4, 2025 - Venus is Taurus’ ruling planet. So when it is there it is “home” and it is very happy. All of the traits of Venus and Taurus will be harmoniously and energetically breathing some fresh air into our life.
Venus is the planet of love, relationships, art, beauty, romance, money, pleasure, attraction, values, justice, social unity, connection, balance, equality, luxury, charm, aesthetics, and feminine energy.
Taurus is the sign of loyalty, dependability, being steady, romantic, sensual, luxurious, artistic, relaxed, loving comfort, being grounded, prioritizes commitment/connection, and is protective.
So blend the energies mentioned above of Venus and Taurus, and receive a harmonious blend of luxurious, loving, romantic comfort and security. Enjoy that for the next month!
Then, the big one, what we get to enjoy for the next year—June 9th, 2025 – June 29th, 2026 is Jupiter in Cancer!
Jupiter is the planet of luck, abundance, prosperity, positive thinking, growth optimism, good fortune, wealth, generosity, optimism, faith, spirituality, higher self, wisdom, travel, and expansion.
Cancer is the sign of connection, affection, loyalty, nurturing, intuition, being thoughtful, creativity, family-oriented, tender, caring, devoted, secure, being generous with love, home. It is a sign of “we have what we need and it is ok to share and not be selfish—there is enough to go around”. (Which many people in this country would be better off to remember right now. Aka the attack on disabled and elderly people and their benefits and the obscenely prevalent selfishness we have seen with Trumps’ administration and his supporters. WWJD, am I right???)
So take the traits of Jupiter and add them to the traits of Cancer and this is the vibe we are presented with starting today! On top of that Jupiter is known to be exalted in Cancer. When a planet is exalted in a sign, it means that it is able to expand upon it’s traits in a very positive, un-impeded, and accessible way. It gets to be fully itself in the sign. We will be getting such a positive boost and supportive energy in our emotional needs, being kind and generous, in our relationships, and in familial bonds.
Jupiter has been in Gemini for the last year, and it has been struggling here. Jupiter is in its detriment in Gemini. Which means it struggles to carry out its themes, and the energies don’t mix well. It doesn’t amplify the positive attributes of Gemini in a helpful way. Instead, the two butt heads. There are still always blessings with Jupiter. But only to a point in this sign. Not like it wants to impart on us. So not only is it moving out of the sign it does the worst in, but it is moving into the sign it does the best in. HOLY MOLY THANK THE LORD!
Chani Nicholas says of this transit,
While Jupiter is in Cancer, it magnifies our emotional depths, our capacity for love, and our ties to home. It encourages the parts of us that want to feel safe, secure, and free to express themselves. During this transit, realizing our hopes and dreams doesn’t require striving; it involves trust, openness, and a willingness to go after what feels naturally joyful.
Listen, we are in a collective shit-show right now in this country and world. Things seem about as bad as they can get. I am not trying to tell you that isn’t happening or to ignore it. These problems are not going to magically change overnight with this. That’s not what I am suggesting or expecting.
But, this period of time is a much more aligned energy to work with, and can be the breath of fresh air and winds of change we have been looking for. We can really collectively do something with this if we want to. It won’t feel as stuck in the mud and moving backwards as the first few months of the year did. It doesn’t have that same quality of “I am fucked no matter what I do.” There is hope and possibility here.
Now, before you have an inevitable bad day this next year and tell me all of this is a lie, please remember a few things:
other astrology happens during this year too—just like everything else in this world, things can’t just be all good or all bad. There will still be hard days.
this is an energy to work with—you can’t just sit back and expect everything to happen for you. Do what you can with this energy. How it impacts you personally depends on the house Cancer falls in for you. (I talk about this in my Astrology 101 lesson if you want to figure yours out, and I am also available to do a reading for you if that’s easier—more details at the bottom)
this transit will come up against some other planets doing their thing too—Some are helpful and some aren’t. Some days are better than others. Think of it like going to a buffet that has mostly every single favorite food of yours on the table, but it may be missing one of your favorite dishes, another may not be prepared to your liking, and a couple may not be things you like. But, overall, most things there are great and yummy.
To that final point, this week Jupiter in Cancer will make a square to Saturn in Aries. What does this mean?
Jupiter in Cancer = abundance and good fortune in compassion and security
Square = challenging angle - a moment of friction
Saturn = restrictions, limits, rules, boundaries, reality
Aries = bold, impatient, ambitious, temperamental, angry, passionate
Sooooo…
Saturn in Aries = a harsh push and pull of Aries wanting to do whatever it wants as quickly as it wants with no limits, and Saturn being there trying to push restrictions, limits, taking its time, and having rules.
Annnnddd…
If Saturn in Aries is squaring (challenging) Jupiter in Cancer this week, that might feel like a time of a harsh reality. If Aries is about the individual and Cancer is about taking care of each other—then these two things are going to cross paths.
What does that mean and how can we work with it? Here is what Chani had to say about that:
Jupiter in Cancer makes a square to Saturn, and that is about understanding the restrictions and the confinement and the reality that we are in. And yeah, the reality might feel a little hostile - because it is, because that's what the rugged individualistic culture gone wild produces.
Saturn in Aries is pretty extreme and pretty harsh. And so Jupiter is trying to bring through this sentiment of care for all and fertility and abundance and a lot of blessings - but it's up against Saturn.
Now, what this is good for is that it makes us work. It's not just like a free ride, so it makes us work at defining the things that we want to facilitate. It makes us work at being really productive within the limits that we've got. It is about being really productive within the limits we’ve got. It gives it reality and shape.
It is still overall a great moment, and if we use Saturn to help give us the reality check and structure we need this week, then we are planting good seeds and can do a lot with this transit. And all in all, over the next year, it is absolutely the breath of fresh air we need. Plus, combine that with the luxurious self-care moment we are getting for the next month with Venus in Taurus, and it should energetically feel a lot better than the last few months have.
