2025 is 'Rally the Troops' Astrology
Welcome to the most bonkers astrological year of our lifetime. There is no room for complacency and complicity.
The scope of this particular post is so freaking vast, that my brain is moving so much faster than my fingers. I don’t know where to start. I don’t know what to include and not include. I don’t know how granular to get versus keeping it super broad. I just know, that I cannot contain my energy and enthusiasm for this subject, and I am actually buzzing. Basically, the astrology of 2025 is the most bonkers astrology ever, and it is going to be chaos, but if we don’t get complacent—it will be worth it. This post is my call to RALLY THE TROOPS.
If 2025 was going to be a movie, it would be the most mega-packed, action movie there was. The astrology this year upsets the status quo and ushers in a new reality. There are GENERATION DEFINING SHIFTS happening. It is accelerated change. This year is our invitation to be better, and we have to work together through our disenchantment. The astrology is on our side to actually make a difference if we get off our butts and take action. If we don’t, we’re in bigger trouble than you are even imagining.
The astrology this year, if I were to describe it in two words, is chaos and battle. And this is not surprising seeing all of the news stories and headlines we have seen over the last couple of months. This is one of those history defining moments where what we choose to do with this energy will impact the world massively for decades to come. While a year for chaos and battle sounds daunting, and it very much is, it is also the agent for necessary change. It gets really hard before it gets better.
The astrology to be a fighter, and to have that fight actually make a difference against the oligarchy and the monsters in power is there, but you have to be brave enough to do it. You gotta channel the Aries/Mars energy. Mars - planet of battle, war, courage, passion, fire, bravery, taking charge. Aries - the sign of all that Mars stuff. The sign of being the initiator. Forcing change. Not taking “no” for an answer. (It is my sign, so if you know me, just think about any fight you have had with me when I am charged up, and channel that fucking energy.)
I cannot stress this enough—everything you do this year and every action you take, has the astrological backing to overthrow the powers that be. We have never seen something like this in our lifetimes and never will again. Every single thing you do to fight back and challenge the status quo is so much more powerful than it normally is, and has the ability to overturn the absolute fuckery that the oligarchy is doing.
What is happening in 2025 that is so crazy? Simply put, every single planet is changing signs. In preparing to write this, I had all of the information I wanted to include, except when was the last time in history that something like this happened? My answer is, I don’t know. I cannot find that information. I was able to find this piece on Soul Rise Astrology. I cannot vouch for its accuracy, however, it does sound about right. This was the only source I could find that even came close to answering my question though. (If I find a better answer later on, I will update y’all). This source says the last time the 3 outer (slower moving) planets all changed signs in the same year was 1737. However, that was just 3 of the slower planets (not 4 like we have), and I am not sure if the Nodes also changed signs that year as it will this year, or if it goes further back than 1737 to find the last time.
So, let’s get into it. I am going to give you a high level breakdown of what is happening, and I am going to give you a 101 level explanation of what it means. Anyone will be able to understand my astrology translations.
Each planet has a different energy it brings to the table. Each sign has a different vibe it brings to the table. When a planet moves into a sign, the energy of that specific planet comes together with the vibe of that particular sign, and things happen that correspond with those energies and vibes coming together. Some of them get along, and some of them don’t.
Additionally, the planets make aspects to each other in the sky as they move. This means they are at certain angles from each other. For instance, if a planet is 120 degrees from another planet, that is a trine. And that is a positive aspect. The energy of those two planets making that trine angle with each other tends to be a more pleasing combination. If a planet is squaring another planet, that is a 90 degree angle and it tends to be a challenging opposition.
Trine = harmonious angle
Sextile = harmonious angle
Square = challenging angle
Opposition = challenging angle
Conjunct = two planets in the same sign and their energies are blending, could be either harmonious, challenging, or both.
So I am going to give you a real-time example. This week, Mark Zuckerberg (head of Meta—Facebook, Instagram, etc) announced he is getting rid of fact-checking on his social media platforms, and moving into a business model that is more like Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter platform.) Do you wanna know what this perfectly coincides with astrologically? I know ya do!
Right now, Mercury is squaring the nodes.
Mercury= planet of communication, social media, the news, technology
Squaring= a challenging angle. Rough, tough, troublesome angle.
The Nodes= to simplify this, what you need to know is that these are points in the sky where eclipses happen, and they change signs every 18 months.
This week the nodes are changing signs and it is huge. The North Node is what we are hungry for and trying to get more of, and it is moving into Pisces. But, The South Node is the point of release and letting go. It is moving into Virgo, the sign of facts, details, perfectionism, educated decisions, research.
So, right now the planet of communication, social media and technology—is having a challenging rough angle—with a point in the sky that is entering into an era that is being sloppy with, and letting go of, facts, reason, and important details.
Meta social media platforms announced they are getting rid of fact-checking this week.
Ok, so that is an example of how the energy of a planet, in the vibe of a sign, making an angle to another planet/point in the sky, will come together and create something. It does this on the world stage, and it does it in your own personal chart, depending on what house it falls in for you. I am not going to get into houses here. However, if you want to go back and read this piece I wrote, there is lots of Astrology 101 about houses, planets, and signs. (I also include a list of houses and things they encompass at the very bottom of this post.)
Now that you have an idea of what I mean by energies and vibes changing the course of our lives when planets move, I hope that you can see that when every single planet is changing signs within less than 12 months of each other, it is a BIG FUCKING DEAL.
Part of the reason it is such a big deal is because a few of these planets are very slow moving and don’t change signs very often. So, to have them all do so within a few months of each other is wild. Here is the line-up:
*Pluto - moved into Aquarius Nov. 19 2024. It will be there until March, 8 2043. It changes signs every 15 to 20 years. (I am counting this as a 2025 shift because 1 - 2025 is the first full year it is in that sign, 2 - it happened at the very end of the year, and 3 - it is within 8 months of all of the planets changing signs. So, if we don’t use the dumb Gregorian calendar, and just go within a year’s time, it is well within that time frame.) You can read ALL about that shift here (spoiler alert, it is the same article I linked above where I said I talked more about astrology 101.)
*Neptune - moving into Aries on March 30, 2025 until 2039. It has been in Pisces since Feb. 2012—for 13 years.
*Uranus - moving into Gemini on July 7, 2025. It has been in Taurus since March 2019—6 years.
*Saturn - moving into Aries May 25, 2025. It has been in Pisces since March 2023—2 years.
*The Nodes - moving into Pisces and Virgo on Jan. 11, 2025. They have been in Aries and Libra since July 2023—1.5 years.
The Sun changes signs every month, the moon changes signs every couple of days, Mercury is usually every 3-4 weeks, Venus is usually every 4-5 weeks, Mars is usually every 6-7 weeks, Jupiter is once a year. So we are used to those changing signs all in the same year. And, the Nodes are every year and a half. They are a big shift, but happen a bit more frequently. But to also then have Saturn change (changes every 2-3 years), Uranus (7 years), Neptune (10-12 years), and Pluto (12-20 years). Woweee!!
Not only that, but a lot of important shit will be in Aries around the same time, the sign of initiation, motivation, courage, passion, getting shit done, bravery, battle, and war.
Venus is going to be in Aries twice in a pretty tight timeframe because it will retrograde through the sign. So it will be there Feb. 4 to Mar. 27 and Apr. 30 to June 6.
Mercury enters Aries on March 3 through 29th (then retrogrades through Pisces) and then comes back into Aries April 16-May 10.
Of course the Sun will be in Aries March 20-Apr. 19, as per usual.
Neptune enters Aries March 30th for several years.
Saturn goes into Aries on May 25 (then retrogrades back into Pisces in Sept. and comes back to Aries again in 2026 for a couple of years)
And of course the moon will be in and out of Aries a lot. During the above timeframe it will be in Aries, March 1-3, March 28-30, April 25-27, May 22-24, and June 18-20.
What does that mean? It means that there is a lot of Aries energy (initiation, motivation, courage, passion, battle and aggression) happening simultaneously and back to back heavily in March, April, and May. Venus, Mercury, and the Sun will all be together in this sign from 3/20-3/27.
And a much bigger and longer term energy shift is that Venus, Neptune and Saturn will all be in Aries at the same time from May 25 to June 6. Of course Neptune and Saturn will be there together for a couple of years, which is a really big deal because they are slower moving. So that energy shift will be huge, and long lasting. (Don’t worry, below I will break down what it means for all these planets to be there and doing what they are doing.)
In fact, a lot of astrologers are geeking out the most over Saturn and Neptune entering Aries together (2 months apart is together with the speed they move). They are both going to be at 0° Aries at the same time, which is the VERY beginning of the zodiac. This is a major point of new beginnings, new cycles, and a point of initiation. It is being called a Genesis moment. It will be a big shift for society as a whole. When Neptune moves into Aries and starts at the very beginning of the zodiac like this, it will then be on a 165 year cycle until it comes back around to this point. That is how long it takes Neptune to move completely around.
Neptune will stay in Aries until 2038/2039. Neptune is about spirituality, inspiration, compassion, subconscious, the arts, imagination, magic, dreams, fantasies. Aries is about motivation, initiation, courage, moving forward, taking action, being big and bold. So, a Neptune in Aries energy is about being motivated to start being brave and taking action to move forward on your wildest fantasies and dreams, spiritual quests, compassionate endeavors, and inspiration and art!! It is about BOLD INSPIRATION.
What is really special and unique about this is that it is doing so hand-in-hand with Saturn. And Saturn is the complete opposite of Neptune. Saturn is about boundaries, rules, structures, responsibility, discipline, and restrictions. So Neptune is on one end of the spectrum getting carried away in imagination land. And Saturn is on the other end reigning it in and being grounded. Neptune is water and Saturn is structure. Water can disintegrate structures. The last time Saturn and Neptune came together like this (not in the sign of Aries, but in total conjunction in the same sign), the Berlin Wall fell.
This time, they are doing this boldly in Aries. This is a very new, beginning, start of something energy in Aries, because it is the first sign of the zodiac and they are entering it at 0° together. Saturn can help bring Neptune down to earth a little, and Neptune can help Saturn loosen up a bit. Neptune is about our ideals and Saturn is about our ethics and honor, so ethical and honorable idealism is possible. These two together can help give a lot of structure and discipline to your wildest dreams and imagination.
It could get conflicting at times too. Saturn is not happy in Aries, and they do butt heads. Aries likes to take off on an adventure without a game plan, and Saturn loves to sit down and make a detailed plan. So, basically—Neptune likes to move slow without a plan. Aries likes to move fast without a plan. Saturn likes to move medium speed with a plan. So the three of these are on slightly different pages.
With Saturn in Aries specifically, Aries is impatient and doesn’t think about consequences, and Saturn likes to take its time and basically rules consequences. So, these two will butt heads over patience. However, where they align is in determination, ambition, drive, and backbone.
It is up to you to decide how to use the energies together. Of course, on a global scale, it is up to all of us. On your own personal scale, it is up to you. We can choose to find a way to get the best out of all of those energies and let them work cohesively together with their strongest traits. Or we can let them butt heads and get nowhere. And some days they will butt heads even if we are trying for cohesion. But, if we can work the collective energy towards more days of playing nice amongst them all, then solid change can happen.
My advice is to do your best to use the bold, brave, initiating energy of Aries to vibe with the biggest, best dreams of compassion and spirituality in your imagination from Neptune, and let Saturn help give that some structure and discipline so it doesn’t all go charging 100 miles an hour while simultaneously aimlessly dilly dallying. Have no fear and make visionary dreams a tangible reality. Make sense?
For you personally, the area of your life this transit will impact is the house Aries falls in for you (list of houses are at bottom of this, and are discussed more here, in this same article I keep linking.) For instance, in my chart, Aries is in my 12th house. This is the house of solitude, intuition, dreams, hidden parts of life, behind the scenes activity, private time, subconscious, self-transcendence, sorrow, loss, service to humanity, self-sacrifice, after life, ascension, higher spirituality, seeing beneath the surface and things others don’t see, endings, healing, closure, karma.
If you follow me on social media (prior to me deactivating most of my Meta accounts) and have heard me continuously talking about how I am entering my villain era, this is a big part of it. All of the things happening in Aries are happening in that house for me. And, Aries is my Sun sign (the sign that most people know, what sign the sun was in the day you were born), so it has extra powerful significance. I plan on going away and being in as much solitude as I possibly can for most of March. Yes, I live my life based on astrology and so far it has not failed me.
On the global scale, this is a call to action. Let us take this really strong, bold, initiating, brave, warrior momentum—and apply it to some really, deeply, inspiring, dreamy, artistic and spiritual energy—and put it into a really organized structure with a lot of discipline and facts. Let us not get those energies all backwards and have them screw each other up. This astrology gives us a chance to take structured action for meaningful, visionary endeavors that encompass compassion.
In my mind, this means coming together and taking bold and brave action against these hateful, ignorant, oligarchy regimes and daring to have hope and faith in our wildest dreams of compassion. A world with compassion is not a world where we have Trump as a president who is a rapist, felon, serial liar, and speaks vitriol against most minorities. A world run by true structure and discipline is one where facts reign supreme and people are properly educated about them. Not a world where social media oligarchs are promoting incredibly harmful and unsafe misinformation. A world where we take bold, brave action is one where we aren’t afraid to speak up against injustice and misinformation. A world where we aren’t supporting people and businesses who’s practices are so dangerous and harmful. That is what it means to me.
As such, I have had to set some difficult boundaries in my life with people who support Trump’s regime. I am still trying to figure out how to toe the line between compassionate dialogue and protecting my moral boundaries.
I have also decided to delete or deactivate my Meta accounts. If it loses too many accounts, it loses too much money, and it either goes bust or it has to reinstate the protocols that keep us safe. I have deleted both of my Threads. I deleted my FB business account and back-up FB accounts I used to like my own posts (LOL). I deactivated my main FB page for awhile to see how things shake out. After a certain period of time, if things do not get better, I will permanently delete it. I took a similar approach with my Instagram accounts. I will remain active on my professional Insta account for the foreseeable future, as I do not see harmful content on there, and depending on how things go, I may or may not deactivate and/or delete that one. I have deleted the back-ups, and deactivated the personal Insta. I will be here on Substack, still on TikTok for as long as we still have that before our current government bans it, and I will be on BlueSky. I’m also considering starting a YouTube channel.
This is a really hard action for me, personally, to take because I LOVE social media, I utilize it for sharing my writing and all of my little business hustles, I need followers for my career endeavors, and I want to do content creation. FB is the number one most engaged set of people I have. I get very little engagement on the other platforms. Giving it up is not easy by any stretch of the imagination.
This isn’t because I am running away from people I don’t agree with. This is because my accounts are money in the pocket of people who’s business practices have now gone into territory I cannot endorse, and it is the only thing I can think of right now that I can actually take any action on.
And, yes, there have been people I don’t agree with that I have cut out of my life, and that is because it is up to each and every one of us to decide what crosses our moral boundaries and how we can remedy that. I find the act of cutting ties with people who do not share similar morals to be taking action. Listen, if this was 2016, we could have some talks about it. But we had 2016, 2020, and now. We’ve been talking since 2016. If you are still voting for him at this point, we are not cool bro. We hold such different values. There are consequences to voting for Trump. One of them is losing my sweet ass friendship. (Told you I’m in my villain era.)
Also, having compassion and having boundaries are not mutually exclusive. In fact, having boundaries is having compassion. I still have compassion for everyone on this earth. I also have compassion for myself by having boundaries. If we do not share similar morals and values, then I will still have compassion for you, while also enacting my boundaries of protecting my energy from people who’s morals are so vastly unaligned with mine. I love you. I don’t have to be your friend. It’s been 8 years. It’s not working out for us.
Another way I plan to take action is that I have been looking into volunteer opportunities that will utilize some of my individual talents, whilst accommodating what I am capable of with my illness. Currently, in my mind, this would ideally being something where I could come and go when I have enough energy to do so, without having to be on a strict schedule. And something where the fact that I am a scrappy bulldog would be helpful. Something like escorting people past protestors into abortion clinics, or escorting voters who are suppressed in areas where that happens. Something where my irrational LACK of fear combined with my neverendingly deep well of empathy for mistreated people is needed.
I am still working on as many ways as I can to take action this year. I am DRASTICALLY cutting back on Amazon. I can’t say entirely, because I don’t live in an area where everything I need is accessible, and with my illness I don’t always have the ability to get to the places where they are. But, I am cutting waaaaaaaay down on it. I hope to eventually be off of it entirely, or at least until enough people have done the same and put a big enough dent in the business that they are forced to change unethical practices, too.
See, my lofty Neptunian dreams are that I can have a hope that there could be a day when we force Amazon and Facebook to be better, or to get the fuck outta here. The way I see it is, being “realistic” and cynical and believing that there is nothing that can change those things for the better ensures that nothing will ever get done to make them better. We continue to be depressed and ineffectual.
Or, we can dare to dream and have hope and give it our best shot. If doing that doesn’t work, then we haven’t lost anything. But, if there is a chance that when a large community of people put their collective energy into releasing fear and negativity, and imagining a better and more just world—that it could actually shift the collective consciousness and create a big spiritual energy of movement towards a positive future and common goal, then why not take that chance? The worst that can happen is that nothing changes and I am disappointed. Congratulations, I already am!
So, I implore you, how are you going to contribute to this? How are you going to use this astrology to take action for a better world? A world where we are not discriminating against women, people of color, LGBTQ+, disabled, certain religions and cultures, and many other minority groups. A world where it is not ok for the 1% to be the 1% and control every single aspect of our lives and take over every single platform.
The beauty of this astrology is, your goals can be lofty, and the steps you take can be very small, manageable, and actionable. You don’t need to get overwhelmed with how much needs to change. Just boldly move forward knowing things need to change, believe in your big dreams, and take manageable structured steps to get there. RALLY THE TROOPS!
Ok, now, this plays into other major astrology happening. I have talked a lot about the whole Neptune and Saturn in Aries thing. I hope that is pretty clear now. I have also talked about how many things are happening in Aries, and what the energy of Aries is. I have also talked about the fact that everything is changing signs. Simply put, the energy shift right now and for the rest of this year is so BIG and BOLD that it cannot be ignored.
Now, in one of my previous posts, I talked about Pluto in Aquarius pretty in depth. This plays a big role in what is happening right now, too. To get a more full, detailed description, you can read the past post (and yes, it is the same one I keep linking)
For this post, I will summarize it more succinctly. Pluto is the planet of transformation, the underworld, digging up what is hidden beneath the surface and needs to be dealt with. It forces us to look at and deal with hidden things and causes big transformational shifts and changes. It is the planet of life and death. It was in Capricorn, the sign of the CEO, wealthy, banks, capitalism, corporation, and 1% for 15 years. We saw banks get bailed out, the housing market crisis, the rich get richer, and everything with Trump and all the billionaires and their unchecked evil behavior. That all got brought to the surface, shifted a beyond normal amount of power to them, and totally transformed our world.
As of the end of November, it is now in Aquarius. Aquarius is the sign of community, groups of friends, activism, humanitarianism, power to the people, the other 99%, logic, reason, facts, and technology. The last time Pluto was in Aquarius citizens overthrew Marie Antoinette, the American and French Revolutions happened, and the Industrial Revolution happened. The list goes on and on with things that have historically happened in this transit, but it all leads to people coming together in community and standing up for the wellbeing of the majority of us, as well as facts, reason, and logic.
If we do not use this energy combined with the whole Neptune/Saturn/Aries energy I talked about earlier to fight for some major change this year, then we are absolutely wasting an opportunity of a lifetime. Bold, brave, motivational, initiating Aries energy combined with big, compassionate, lofty, beautiful dreams of harmony and spirituality of Neptune, paired with the structure and discipline to take actionable and manageable steps to make them happen with Saturn, rolled up with Pluto’s massive transformations towards Aquarian community, activism, reason, facts and logic. If we don’t use that to fight for change this year, then we don’t deserve the change.
Here’s the thing. It gets worse before it gets better. It always has in these matters, and it always will. One magical thing isn’t going to happen to fix it all overnight. We have to do the work. I would love to wake up tomorrow and have all the sanctions that are currently coming out about election interference to be completely finalized and fixed. I would love for with just a wave of the wand for the proof of the rigged election, and election interference, and the guilty verdicts and prison time for Trump to all come flooding in before inauguration day. I would love for all of that information to wake his supporters out of the trance and spell they have been under and for them to be awash with whatever it takes to make them not support Trump. Whether that is more empathy, less selfishness, more information and logic, less religion interfering in politics, or whatever (yeah, I said it. I’m done constantly fretting whether or not my words are going to offend #villainera).
We can’t sit here and lose all hope when that shit doesn’t all just do a 180 shift overnight. Astrologically speaking, these planets are very slow moving. They take a long time to transform this crap. Regardless of astrology, any meaningful, long-lasting change does not happen over night. It takes a lot of work and action, from a lot of people, for a long time. It is not a flash in the pan. Heck, even individual, personal change takes a lot of work for a long time.
Ok, so now that I have done my best to rally, as well as remind us all of the realistic timeline of enacting change, I do have a curveball to throw into the rally cry mix. Uranus moves into Gemini on July 7 after 6 years in Taurus. Uranus is a planet of upheaval, innovation, radical ideas, revolutionary events, and unexpected changes. Gemini is about communication, being intellectually curious, impulsivity, duality, restlessness, and versatility. I personally think the idea of an intellectual upheaval sounds fantastic. And, it very much could be, based on how the majority of us decide to move this year. However, if history repeats itself, it could go the wrong direction. Here, I will quote what my favorite astrologer, Chani Nicholas, has to say about the last time this transit happened:
So, July makes a giant splash. The last time that Uranus was in Gemini was a very long time ago. It was 1941 to 1949. And in the World War II, during it and in the postwar aftermath, Europe went around and carved up the world according to its quote-unquote "New World Order," which we know created massive chaos, massive division, and really just so much trauma, we could say.
And Gemini is a sign that is very much about divisions and categories and making things small, right? And so instead of unifying something, Gemini is a sign that will break things up.
So, that's one of the things that happened the last time that this planet was in this sign. And we also want to look back and see that, yes, it was because of war, which is something that we are going to outgrow if we're going to sustain life on the planet. I don't mean to be relating everything to war, but that's how it's gone for the last little bit in human history.
So these planetary transitions do actually line up with stuff that was going on in other times of great strife. It doesn't mean we have to relive that. We get to co-create and recreate this. But because of the war, because of World War Il, there were a lot of tech advancements that came out of it. Again, unfortunately, that's how we made those types of advancements; we can do it differently this time. But we're talking about the first helicopters, the first jet engines, the first electronic computers, as well as, yes, the atomic bomb. Again, we are not going to repeat history. But commercial air travel surged to new levels after World War I when travel restrictions ended.
So again, we're looking at an air sign. So we're looking at communication. We're looking at flight. We're looking at tech. We're looking at all the ways in which moving through air — and when we speak, we’re pushing air out - so communications and literally traveling, moving through air is going to be updated and advanced in some way.
Listen, if we can build momentum around the other astrology happening, and not letting history repeat itself, then I think we can use the Uranus upheaval in the Gemini communication and intelligence era to our advantage. But I think this just reiterates that it does take a lot of work and participation from us, and it does take a long period of time. Gemini isn’t a patient sign, but all of this is calling for patience. Aries isn’t a patient sign but the stuff happening there is calling for patience, as well.
The real theme I am taking away from this is that we need to get off our butts and do the hard work and be patient about the results, but still carry on with the tenacity and grit that the impatience lends us.
Like I briefly mentioned earlier, the Nodes are changing signs on Jan. 11. This is a big, huge, energy shift too. North Node in Pisces is hungry for, and wants more of, Pisces style stuff—intuition, creativity, emotion, sensitivity, compassion, spirituality, imagination, and dreaminess. The South Node is all about releasing, letting go of, and healing things in the sign it is in. It will be in Virgo—this sign is about learning, teaching, exacting, perfection, facts, data, research, accuracy, organization, etc. On the global scale, that should all be interesting… South Node in Virgo is the loss of doing things correctly, facts, details, accuracy. North Node in Pisces is the gain of doing things together with compassion, faith, hope, vulnerability, spirituality, and bonding together.
In your personal life, whatever houses Pisces and Virgo fall in for you is how that energy will play out. For me, Pisces is in my 11th house of community, groups of friends, activism, humanitarianism, etc. I will be hungry for those things. I will be making big strides and changes in my life towards those things, in a very Piscean way—intuition, artistry, sensitivity, spirituality. I don’t know, if you plug all that together… hungry for an imaginative spiritual community and activism, it kinda sounds like I might start a cult! Love that journey for me. #villainera
Virgo is in my 5th house of creative projects, creativity, romance, love affairs, sexuality, play, joy, children, self-expression, and entertainment. So, I will be releasing, letting go of, and healing things in this area of my life. Since it is in Virgo, perhaps I will let go of or heal some Virgo tendencies I have in these areas? Maybe healing and letting go of perfectionism in my creativity and self-expression (although, I gotta be honest, I have never had the patience to be a perfectionist, so I don’t think that is it for me.) I don’t know, as I write this and look at key words like “sexuality” and “healing”, I think maybe Marvin Gaye’s Sexual Healing vibe could be a good journey for me here. Maybe I will have one of those. And, lest you think I can’t somehow relate that to Virgo traits, you would be wrong! There is a lyric at the end of the song that says, “Please don't procrastinate.” And I feel like that is a very Virgo thing to say.
The next transit that I wanna talk about, that I found there to be some major significance with the theme of this piece, is what Venus is up to this year. Venus is moving into Aries, retrograding back in Pisces, and then moving back into Aries. The last time it did EXACTLY what it is getting ready to do was 8 years ago, in 2017. The exact same spots in the sky, during the exact same days of the year, it’s making the exact same moves.
This year, Venus will be entering its pre-retrograde shadow (don’t worry about that term, it’s not what is important here and is more advanced than the basics I am translating here), on Jan. 28th—between the signs of Pisces and Aries. The presidential inauguration is on the 20th. Trump is the one being inaugurated.
In 2017, Venus entered its pre-retrograde shadow at the end of Jan, between the signs of Pisces and Aries, right after Trump was inaugurated the first time. History is literally repeating itself to the day astrologically with this particular transit.
Venus is the planet of love and a very feminine planet. It is all about female issues, queer and trans issues, beauty, art, justice, and relationships. Retrograde is when it moves backwards. In 2017, at this time, we were in a huge women’s movement. We had The Women’s March in opposition to Trump’s inauguration. 2017 was also a banner year for the #MeToo movement, as well as the Times Up movement. There was a lot of female and LGBTQ+ opposition that marked a moment in our history pretty profoundly.
So, this year, the end of January is the same momentum. It is a point in time where we have the energy we need to connect and gather and rally against the injustices to the queer and trans, gender non-conforming, and female identifying communities. And this time, we have lessons we should have learned from the last 8 years about how we can do it better and be more inclusive. Taking the wonderful Venus vibes of love, relationships, beauty, art, and justice—and combining them with the Pisces energy of big dreams, idealism, and compassion—and throw in a dash of the fact that it will move into Aries which is the sign of momentum, courage, and being a fierce go-getter. We can make stuff happen with this energy, too.
Once again, individually, this transit will play out in themes having to do with the house Aries falls in for you on a personal level. And, I need to share mine, because it is another piece of chilling proof of the alignment with astrology and my life.
I did not know much about astrology in 2017. I knew I was an Aries (sun), and I didn’t know I had a moon or rising sign. I knew nothing about the planets and houses and all these transits. I knew traits of being an Aries. I enjoyed astrology. I knew very little about it, and I did not follow it or plan my life to it.
Pisces is in my house of community, clubs and organizations I belong to, humanitarian issues, and groups of friends. Aries is in my house of solitude, getting to things that are hidden behind the scenes, serious introspection, and basically just being all up in your feelings alone while you have a transcendent life experience with your self-awareness.
In 2017, when Venus, the planet of love, art, creativity, female-centered things, and relationships was doing what I just talked about above, between Pisces and Aries, I was quitting stand-up comedy, going into hiding, and having a life-changing experience realizing I was an empath and that I wouldn’t do comedy any more because those spaces were not safe for me as a female and an empath.
In 2017, when the planet of love, creativity, and female shit, was moving backwards and forwards between my house of community, friends, activism—I left stand-up comedy—my community and many of my friends, the organization I belonged to, and my creative outlet that I loved and most of the shows and organizations I was regularly involved in were heavily women and LGBTQ+ centric—and I disappeared entirely from it that year when it was in my house of solitude and life-changing experiences. I was hiding in my apartment most of the time, declining more invitations for social activities and performing than I ever have, and going DEEP into introspection about this new life-changing thing I had learned about my personality—being a sensitive, intuitive, empath that soaked up the emotions of everyone around me. I also started speaking up about the issues I encountered being a female in stand-up comedy, and that other females and LGBTQ+ people faced in the comedy world, and how they led me to leave it. There were so many personal #MeToo moments in my local comedy scene, and I could no longer be complicit in that community. I also, unfortunately, for my own mental health, couldn’t stay in the community while speaking up. I had to do it from outside of it, because my mental health was way too shattered and precarious at the time.
Are you as floored as I was? I had no idea how this coincided. I just know I was doing what I knew in my gut was the right thing for me to do. I specifically remember buying a really nice new TV that year because I was spending so much time alone in my apartment, that I decided a new TV was in order. I remember joking that my TV was my boyfriend and best friend because I was spending so much of my time with it. I was only hanging out with a smaller group of select good friends who I really trusted, and I was no longer seeing huge groups of comedy acquaintances every night. I was soaking up every piece of information and insight I could about the discovery that I was an empath. How it had impacted me throughout my life and the massive changes I needed to make moving forward to better accommodate my best interests and mental health. I just remember having very little interest in leaving my apartment for several months. And, other than having to go to work and running errands and whatnot, I chose my social outings VERY carefully and they were VERY few and far between. And for the first time in a LONG time, I was enjoying being completely alone and in solitude. I was craving it. I am a huge extrovert, so this is rare occurrence for me.
I would always think back on that time and how pivotal it was for me, and how interesting that intense solitude had been in comparison to the several years in comedy that proceeded it. And I was “last week years old” when I found out why that happened—Venus retrograding through my 12th house, duh. Because that was exactly what was meant to happen for me astrologically. And I was also “last week years old” when I found out the chilling and shocking identical occurrence of Trump being inaugurated during the last time this exact same transit, in the exact signs, on the same days. I am looking forward to the opposition that women and LGBTQ+ bring to the table, and I am praying and manifesting and working towards it being even more effective than last time. To the point where somehow he gets kicked out and justice is restored and we are safe. Let’s do it better this time.
And the final one I wanna talk about, best for last, is Jupiter moving into Cancer. This one is sooooooo good you guys!! I think this is the positive spin we need on the year to help us propel the other stuff forward in a positive way.
On June 9, Jupiter—the planet of abundance, wisdom, prosperity, growth, optimism, and good fortune is moving into Cancer—the sign of nurturing, maternal instincts, sensitivity, and family. Jupiter is exalted in Cancer. Exalted means the energy and characteristics of the planet vibes really nicely with the energy and characteristics of the sign it is in. A planet like Mars, for instance, doesn’t vibe nicely in Cancer. Mars is anger, directness, aggression, fiery passion, etc. So it doesn’t do well in Cancer which is about sensitivity, passiveness, and nurturing. So there are different terms for how a planet reacts in a sign, and one of them is “exalted”. And that’s what you wanna hear—Jupiter is exalted in Cancer—and when it moves there in June, it will be there for a whole year!
Now, you may be asking yourself, “If Jupiter is a planet of abundance, wisdom, prosperity, and good fortune, wouldn’t that kind of vibe be exalted in every sign?” That’s a great question. I would have thought so, too. But, it isn’t. Now, in my opinion, I don’t think Jupiter being in a sign it doesn’t get along with is nearly as rough as other planets being in a sign they don’t get along with. But, there are signs where having Jupiter there is a bit cray.
In fact, Jupiter will be coming out of Gemini when it goes into Cancer in June, and when in Gemini, Jupiter is in what is known as it’s “detriment”. The energy with Jupiter in Gemini is a trickier vibe. Gemini is a sign of curiosity, inventiveness, moving from thing to thing quickly, intellect, and information sponges. Again, upon first glance, where is the “detriment” in an abundance of curiosity and intellect? I hear ya!
It is just that both Jupiter and Gemini can get carried away. Neither are very grounded. Both are high energy. So it is just A LOT of a similarly over-the-top energy coming together. It is a period of information overload, and an abundance of a short attention span. Jupiter also wants to really go down into the rabbit hole with something, and Gemini wants to flit from topic to topic. So it’s like going down the rabbit hole on a million topics and feeling all over the place. It’s like scrolling TikTok for an hour and finding 50 things that interest you and that you want to learn about, and then trying to do a full dissertation amount of research on each of those 50 topics in a month. It can just be a bit chaotic, and eventually draining, when these energies come together.
It isn’t all bad. In fact, none of it is “bad”. It can just be a bit tricky, and you can probably feel ungrounded in this transit of Jupiter in Gemini. Not knowing where to focus your attention. This transit just feels like it gives you an endless amount of possibilities, and you want to move forward with every single one. And, you can’t. And it gets frustrating. It’s there until early June, then we can move on to where it is exalted and yummy!
So, when it moves into Cancer, mmmm mmmm mmmm, we are in for a TREAT y’all. Jupiter in Cancer really helps things in your life feel nourished, mothered, abundant, beautiful, loved, and calmer. Especially because it is happening not long after Mars moves out of Cancer. So, in your life, whatever house Cancer falls in for you in your chart, Mars has been retrograding there for the first part of the year. And remember what I said about Mars in Cancer above? Not happy. Not happy at all. And it has been retrograding, which is even more sticky. So, we come out of that, and then hit a point where Jupiter moves in and gives us an abundance of nourishing and nurturing love. Sign me up!
On the world stage, we could use an abundance of a nurturing, loving, feminine, calm energy that feels like being wrapped in a safe hug. In your own life, this same energy will come to an area of your life that is contained within the house it falls in. “Contained” may be the wrong word. Because I think it will impact you in more ways than one. Since it will impact the people around you differently, and the world around you differently, and you will ultimately soak some of that up too.
For instance, Cancer is in my third house. That is the house of communication (every form of communication, think—speaking, publishing, writing, teaching, learning, internet, social media, the news, etc etc), daily rituals (how I am filling my daily time in a meaningful way), siblings, extended family, neighbors and local life (how I am filling my time in my local area and community). So, I should be seeing great things in that area of my life.
But it may not stop there. For instance, my mom has Cancer in her 8th house. This house encompasses renewal, death/rebirth, transformation, intensely felt experiences, deep interactions, growth and change, merging, intimacy, shared finances, debts, other people’s resources, property, joint ventures, and mental health. So she is going to see really good energy and vibes in some (or all) of these areas over the course of a year.
Thusly, since I live with her, I imagine that some of the good fortune she sees will have bearing on my life, and vice versa. Also, some of the good energy this transit imparts on the world platform, in terms of helping us feel more nurtured and calm, will definitely impact me, too. As it will for you. So, where this transit falls for you, and the people around you, I imagine will impact you.
The caveat here is that June through August, Saturn (the planet of boundaries and restrictions) is squaring (challenging) Jupiter (this planet of abundance and optimism), that has just moved into Cancer where it is “exalted” and nurturing us. As such, the first couple of months of this transit aren’t as beautiful as it gets in September and on when Saturn moves and isn’t squaring Jupiter anymore. Sept-Jan Saturn will not be hindering Jupiter in any way, and Jupiter can just fully go balls to the wall with that energy I mentioned above.
I am not saying it’s a bad thing, it just takes a couple of months to ramp up to that amazing energy I am promising. Plus, it will be such a relief when the warrior of Mars stops retrograding and moving through the sensitive Cancer, that when the abundance of Jupiter moves into the warm hug of Cancer shortly after, it will still feel like a nice energy shift in June, regardless of what Saturn is doing. Just plan for a couple of months of it not being AS nice of a vibe as it will be from September on. Overall, it will be about caring for each other, and it will shower us with fortune and blessings.
There are a ton of other things that happen astrologically every single day. So this is by no means all of it. These are just the really big things that I wanted to address in 2025. I will probably write more about it as the year continues. I will also continue to make TikToks about upcoming astrology. And I am always available for hire to have a chit chat about upcoming personal astrology stuff for you (krista.m.atkinson@gmail.com).
The key takeaway is that if we take everything I mentioned above and put it all together we can make big changes this year, personally and collectively. It’s going to happen regardless, but if you put your mind to being involved in your life and the world in a way that matters, then you can impact the changes that are happening with or without you. Let’s make the changes ones of unity and love. Let’s weather the storm and remember it gets harder before it gets easier, but doing everything you can will be worth it.
2025 is so much bigger than any other year we have seen in our lifetime. I am in no way surprised we have come to the head we have at this point in time. 2025 is going to be the eruption, chaotic, breaking point year. Everything you do will make so much more of an impact going forward than it usually does. Let’s rely on each other. Let’s make our mark in history. There are some really beautiful moments to work with this year, and so much potential for us to do better and get it right this time.
Love, K
